    Hull series price speculation thread

I think so long as you can count on players with ships like the Herc to haul from orbit to surface, the Hull C should be the number one hauler. For longer routes the Hull D and E make good sense, but you need more players. The Hulls are supposed to produce greater hauling value than any other...

Invictus Launch week - Polaris not limited?

BTW, one of the big things to happen in carrier group capability this last decade is the X47b attack drone has been modified to refuel others of its kind as well as F-35s. This essentially extends the range of all these other craft an indeterminate amount, which makes them very hard to second...

Invictus Launch week - Polaris not limited?

Depending if the Vulcan has a bed, head, galley and airlock (which it likely does), could be that is all you need to support a trio of Eclipse in long duration hunting. The Vulcan is a very under-appreciated ship, I think mostly because we've been given so little information about it.

Invictus Launch week - Polaris not limited?

Yeah, but the Polaris was invented to fly the Son's of Orion storyline killing Vanduul ships, and CIG controls the payout for those missions as well. They know if they won't pay for torps no one will fly them, so one expects the missions will pay quite well, or the torps will be provided by the...

Invictus Launch week - Polaris not limited?

I'm doubtful the way to think of the Polaris is it's able to carry a ship, as opposed to that it is able to refuel and refit any ship that fits in the hangar. It should be able to support many ships flying with it. However, given the primary mission of hunting and killing enemy cap ships, the...

Invictus Launch week - Polaris not limited?

In WWII, the term "Destroyer" was invented to describe a new class of boat that was created specifically to destroy small torpedo boats and subs. These were originally called "Tin Cans" for they were much smaller, lighter and more agile than their cruiser cousins. These little Destroyers can...

Invictus Launch week - Polaris not limited?

That's exactly how I think of them. The Idris and Jav are important to have in a large fleet and players need to know how to fly them as a group, but events needing them are going to be relatively sparse unless hundreds of players commit to fighting Vanduul over a protracted period of time...

Invictus Launch week - Polaris not limited?

I was just thinking of Apollo the other day, as it is one of the least appreciated ships coming in game. The other two up there get plenty of loves, but the Apollo deserves an advocate as people get the chance to pick one up. I'm really hoping to develop a deep strike team flying out of a...

Scorpius sale $200 - Star Citizen heavy fighter

That's good analysis but I'll stay with the Sentinel. One thing you didn't note is the EMP, which has greater range than any of the S3 laser repeaters. Hence why it is rank heresy to ever doubt the supremacy of the Vanguard! . . er, something like that. They are very different rides. I'm...

Scorpius sale $200 - Star Citizen heavy fighter

It's a beautiful ship and one presumes you can stick a blade in and get control of all 8 S3 guns for the pilot. Nice escort ship I think. However I take umbrage that it's the best two-seater in game, as the brochure said. Nahhh. . .so to compare it against the Sentinel. . . The Scorpios has...

Last projection I've seen for the Polaris hangar is 29m long, 20 meters wide, 8 meters high. You might squeeze the Scorpios in diagonally, but not the Vanguard. Not even close. But of course as vadahar notes, we still don't know what size that hangar will turn out to be.

RSI Scorpius - New heavy fighter!

1 meter too long to fit in the Polaris hangar bay, and all small components just talked me out of it. If I can't fit it into a Polaris, I'll stick with the Sentinal which has 3X the shields, twice the missiles, stealth, EMP and 6km weapons range. Sure is pretty though.

RSI Scorpius - New heavy fighter!

Yeah. I doubt anyone is going to fly this with a second person. Its role is severely restrained with all S1 components, but it packs such a hard punch that unless is handles like a garbage scow, I think it's going to be everyone's first choice of short range escort. I can imagine flying half...

Wow. Unless it turns crazy slow everyone is going to want one of these, granted the pilot can take control of the turret.
