As of yet unverified, but claims are the remote top turret on the Carrack will fit the chin mount on the Vanguard, resulting in two, gimbled, S4 weapons and a true “super Vanguard”.

I have been told that the Carrack top turret fits the Vanguard chin mount, so allows two gimbaled S4 weapons—AKA “Super Vanguard”!!! Am trying to verify.

Great theorycrafting. I'm guessing 500i, 3 man, carries 2 X1 bikes, 3 gimbaled S3 guns, top turret boasts 2XS3 guns, 4S3 missiles, 8-10 cargo, 1km/s, beds, head, galley, competes with the Vanguard. Needs a luxury twist--could be three beds, cargo and bikes makes it more exploration and bounty...

Looks like an investment opportunity to me.

And of course the ultimate assault craft is the Idris, or perhaps the Marauder. Size does matter. If however a mission calls for speed and agility you should prefer the Hoplite, and if it calls for stealth, the Prowler. So there really is never a single best answer.

I think you could certainly do it! but I also think you'd do it better with any of the three Hercules, and you get tanks.

The Idris shield is over a million points, and 8k refresh. Each turret has 4k hull points. Needs an EMP, S9 or S10 torps or it will cut attackers to ribbons. I doubt you can put enough ships in an instance to kill an Idris without those resources. I would not want to try it without at least...

There's no "cloak" tech coming. Stealth works by reducing ElectroMagnetic (EM), InfraRed (IR) and Radar Cross Section (RCS) signatures, same as in real life. There is already lots of sig reducing tech in game. In general, ships normally detect other ships primarily through EM sig. Hence why...
