Just an offhand thought about this chart. It reminds me of something interesting. If you've ever seen the tide come in the Atlantic at the Minas Basin (part of the Bay of Fundy) in Nova Scotia, Canada, it looks just like that. Because of the shape of the basin, the tide can rise... hold onto...
