    COVID Buddy-check thread

You get to retire some day. My family mostly lives in the vicinity of Cowichan Bay, I forgot the new name of the straight that separates the island from the mainland, it changed recently to a more appropriate name. Salt Spring Island is a little to the north. I once took a rowboat out...

Raspberry Pi 4B expansion board question?

Looking at this picture, I'm wondering where the grow pods are. This is a good substrate if it can be preserved, and not allowed to crush the growing seedlings. The same thing happens with other systems. They look like this...

    COVID Buddy-check thread

I was a military brat, so we moved too often for me to feel like I'm home. In my mind, my home is still the Ottawa Valley, that's where I raised my kids. But my family lives in Nova Scotia and B.C. In B.C., the epicenter is a little to the left of Vancouver. Most beautiful place on the...

    Markets looking like recovery?

"Preserve freedom, it's perishable". That just popped into my head when I read your post. It's from a bumper sticker dating from the 80's and 90's.

That looks exactly like how every Webex call I've ever had the pleasure stress to have taken part in feels. Microsoft Team speak works marginally better, if you have it, but by marginally I mean the difference is 3 atoms wide.

Nationally by the way, there is a single data point currently showing a potential rollover beginning. A single data point, occurring on a Monday and representing Sunday is a little suspect but if the trend holds it's a good sign right now. The prediction for totals on Sunday was well over...

Not very accurate in terms of low numbers, but the shape of the curve is pretty much cast in stone for the next 2 weeks. I don't want to say what that means in terms of numbers, just to say that coulda shoulda woulda is the wrong way to manage an outbreak.

I had one of those, those are almost indestructible disregarding what a 14 year old with a screwdriver can do. If you use it to make a seam, just sew the seam twice and back stitch the width of your thumb each time a seam ends.

Well it's making a racket for sure, but he's not really yelling. I had a beer last night from a 6 pack my wife bought, or I thought I did. The result of my discovery caused me to (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ too. My discovery was the bottle label that said, 0.0% alcohol... so it was flavored water in a...

Everything you can do to keep from breathing air directly, especially in a crowd is better than nothing. But I still stand by the problem. If you have aerosol particles suspended in the air, they can be inhaled by the negative air pressure of breathing even behind a surgical mask and cause...

HEPA filters remove particles 0.3 microns in diameter. The SARS-CoV-2 particular diameter is measured in nanometers, which are 1000 times smaller than a micrometer. So no you would not be protected.
