    Vid for the elderly

He's an amazing educator. If you like that kind of thing, Dr. Derek Muller has a blog that kind of puts his videos together. https://www.veritasium.com/

    Scrapper Build

That's about in line with what I'd expect, a little higher than my 1080 Ti. 1 FPS at the high end (I get 60 FPS) and it can drop to around 30 at Area 18. But SC does not seem to use the GPU effectively, it's using CPU to do GPU tasks. You can monitor this using r_DisplayInfo = 3

My old org is dead, you guys seem fun.

Welcome @mf-brofist! In TEST if you hear whispers, you need to turn up the volume.

Melt the Nautilus for the Ares?

I was going to say, that sounds like an idea... but it escalated.

New Star Citizen Ship: ARES (Video)

You hit the nail on the head. This is not a fighter. It's a gatling gun with wings and a cockpit screwed on. I can't think of a direct Air Force equivalent, but I can think of Naval river boats that fit this role. You can fly this ship alone if you want, but it'll work much better in a pack.

Hello. My name is Knusum, and i am a starship addict.

You know the first thing a starship addict needs to do is admit it. Then they should join TEST Squadron. We can feed that addiction, and help it to realize it's full potential. Welcome to TEST!

New Star Citizen Ship: ARES (Video)

My heart says YES, my wallet ran away screaming something that sounded suspiciously like "Wrong answer!". BUT I have something I can upgrade and take half the pain off of my wallet. when it gets back I'll have a heart to heart with it. Edit: Good video too .... forgot that part

    Flu season 2019 is awesome!

Make memories, take pictures and keep them safe. It's all over far too soon, and before you know it you'll hear "Dad, can I borrow your car? I have a date..."

    Just throwing this out there

Seems to me that answers a different question. It tells us if we can disable an engine with an Aurora?... It doesn't answer the question, Can we blow up an Idris with mining lasers? They are both very valid, but different questions.

    So... staggered development?

CIG is using a modified Waterfall Development methodology btw, not Agile (thankfully) and "Staggered Development" is their own invention. It's weird, because it looks like (same terminology as) Staggered Release, which is not supposed to be part of the development cycle but part of the...

16 GB vs 32 GB ram

For the record, there are very few reasons to explicitly set the page file size yourself, and ways to do it wrong. Letting the OS decide is almost always the better option. The only thing I do is to make sure it's set to my fastest drive, and that SC is also on my fastest drive. And don't let...

    So... staggered development?

I'm with you here, but I have a concern that is in part expressed by the point @LoicFarris made. I'd like to get a doable timeline for when the ships that aren't in the roadmap are going to be released. I would feel better about it if it didn't look like a mess.

    Just throwing this out there

OH I would be up for that. The Prospector can blow up fighters in no time, I bet the Mole could do well against an Idris. You could let some folks with FPS mining lasers have at it too, just to see what happens.

16 GB vs 32 GB ram

Well honestly I bought the 1080 Ti because at the time it was a cheap addition, and I wanted to step through the 2070 and wait for them to come out with new technology. I use these for my work more than for gaming. Most of the resolution of a new card would be lost on me.

16 GB vs 32 GB ram

What can I say, other than Wow. It came with the system when I bought it so I didn't care what it's performance was, other than it outperformed everything else that I owned by a noticeable margin. I just stopped looking. I can say the limiting factor with gaming for me right now is the 1080...
