It seems trading is way to wonky to make profitable on the meek margins. I'm finding doing the courier or recovery missions in an Aurora to be just as profitable with non of the risk due to crashes/disconnects.

Only way the owl goes back in the box is after he has consumed all of the beer in your fridge, your friends fridge, family members and often times stores and neighbors around you. So once all of the beer is consumed with in stumbling distance of your place of summoning then the Owl disappears.
