It shouldn't be all that expensive. Cheaper fuel means more commerce, more traveling around. It makes small ships economical. If fuel is "fekin expensive" then only big ships would exist and passenger transport would be the key profession.

Did anyone really expect anything different? I also expect a ship sale with longer range ships with the release of 4.0. Pyro is behind a pay wall, you can't really experience it in a starter ship.
