Good question, I dunno but from the two patch updates I've been with the game (2.5 to 2.6 and 2.6 to 3.0) it seems to be a running theme. 2.5 flat out died when 2.6 went to Test Universe.

Alpha 2.6 appears to be a little.... unstable.... now 3.0 is live for the Evo. I had the Olisar Hoop flying around issue that I had never seen in 2.6.3, and I recall when 2.6 went to Evo 2.5 broke entirely.
