Yeah that seems to be the case. When it works its a pretty neat feature but it's not absolutely crucial for my gameplay. I think the Helmet HUD feature really bonked things up.

That's too bad. I guess all the videos I saw of trackir/gimbal setups working are pre 3.4. Oh well, maybe CIG will look into that again in the future.
