My suggestion is wait till aniversary sale then melt your package(if not LTI) and rebuy your starter or another starter ship such as the 100i which i think everyone forgot about. Also remember you can always buy ships in game which is comming like 1-2 patches from now(at least scheduled). So...

My guess with this is there will be stronger lazers or more accurate lazers which will make that green area bigger they have to leave some customization for minning or it will dull out very quickly. Maybe add that to your list you need goals for different equipment to mine more difficult materials.
