You'll get the base in Hangar I believe. And both variants will go on sale I think they said. Honestly, with the armor, shield, and weapons upgrade I see no reason to get the base model.

Each additional package grants you a character slot to create a custom NPC to man your ship. You still have to pay them, but they'll be your permanent team instead of hired. PS. They said you can buy the slots by themselves in the future, but I don't know if they'll be more than $15
