Its a bit bet doing it right now :) By keeping upgrade in hangar at least you should be able to use it after buyback system is gone (well on the paper), since the upgrade is definitive. I'd wait to see if the privateer end to be more like a pure trading mobile outpost and less of a supporting...

At first the base one +getting upgrade if possible and leave it in hangar (not sure it exists?) but when the game is complete and after testing kraken in beta, i would prefer to go for a privateer. Still can do the job of base kraken (just one hangar less and less cargo), and its basically a...
