The upsize is a good thing, outside of speed it was basically outmatched by everything else as a "starter." But yes, the top down has an odd balance to is and upping the size of the weapon hardpoint lends it a slightly more balanced shape.

I want to like it, but I think the gun to cockpit spacing is a little extreme and throws off the lines way too much. It should be an Ares with an interior given that shape.
