Love it, odd looking ships are my thing. Surprised by the gun though, seems a little small even for a starter.
Yeah I get what they’re going for. The asymmetrical Mercury Star Runner look. I feel like that aesthetic is better served on a larger ship though but what the hey. Why not?

Well what do you expect?
The Intrepid is a CRUSADER starter ship.
Obviously it will be pretty in an asymetric way but take up way too much room for what it can do.
(On that note, is the Hercules truly a Crusader ship? Kinda seems like the odd one of the bunch.)
But it's a starter , no doubt about it.
8 SCU made slightly less useful by splitting it onto 2 elevators, kinda like the Origin 315i.
A bed for logout and a loo for .... roleplaying...
Plus a weapon packet to punch above the weight class (of a hoverbike).
I wonder about the healthpool and the ammo.
IF it had armor like the Terrapin and 2 S2 shields I might forgive that lame S3 weapon.
But I guess it's gonna be more like the Nomad minus a shield.
Given that in the video the MFD shows two energy slots for the shield and Erkul tells me it's probably 2 S1 or 1 S2 Stealth.
1 S2 Shield on that thing would be interesting though and help with the armament I guess.
Anyhow, given the size it's probably end up more in the Nomad's price range than in the Avengers.
Anyone got an idea what you've got to fork over for this baby?

This looks awful. Like really awful. Unfinished minecraft remake of a ship levels of awful. WTF CIG???
I'm not gonna go into detail but this is just terrible design and execution.
Crusader ships sell on looks and useless gimmicks like the offset gun or the crawlspace in the MSR, cos they are pretty damn mid when it comes to stats vs size/price, but this lacks in every single aspect.
My bet is it's gonna cost about as much or more than an avanger.

Another pretender to the throne of the mighty penguin.
Many have tried, all have failed, few have failed so spectacularly.

Nothing to it, the Avenger must be nerfed into oblivion now, since designing a starter ship that is remotely on par seems to be too much for the vehicle design team.

Dunno about that.
The Intrepid is most likely to cost as much as a Syullen or a Nomad.
Given that it comes as a fully developed 1-2 person appartment anything less would be surprising.
And it truely looks as if you could live in there for a couple of weeks. See where the Milky Way leads you.
Try that in an Avenger.
It may not really be ment for fighting, true.
But as a Bunker shuttle or packet runner it's more than adequate.
And with an engineering station and everything it's many new mechanics in a nutshell.
Once there IS actually engineering that is...

PS: Terrapin Medic is in the PTU too. And the Hornet MKII variants. Just saw the first videos (in german)

Although I generally like symmetry, this is a good looking ship for what it is if it has to be asymmetrical.

I like how CIG pulled in design cues from the Mercury, Ares, and Spirit to make this ship visually fit into the Crusader lineup.

It seems to be a marmite ship some people love it some hate it.

I popped into the PTU last night and it happened to be at IAE - I kinda like it. I am way past starter ships now but if I was buying one it may be the intrepid. The interior is nice, good cargo size, cant see how you can really go wrong with it as a starter ship?

its a w man ship and has an entire rear end dedicated to engineering gameplay - looks like CIG is not gonna let us get away from the engineering gameplay even if were on our todd in a starter ship. Doesnt bode well for things to come on larger ships.

I'll have to look at the price tag, but so far I think I'm sold.
I admit I'm a sucker for Crusader's ships but this one check a lot of boxes for a starter ship and do have both a nice interior and a decent cargo bay.

The only think it's off is the weapons equipment: single weapon is not a big dal but a single S3 is a bit odd right now and unless CIG is planning to create a significant gap between S2 and S3 weapons I think an S4 would be a better choice...

Lets see the price tag but I think this will replace my mustang... and probably the Titan too since it does have an equivalent cargo capacity.

Looks like it’s getting an S4 after all!

Makes sense. Now all they have to do is make that shiel an S2 and they can sell that ride for 80$.
Because otherwise anything above 45$ might stil be questionable.
And let's face it, CIG waaaaaants your money. Like real bad... :-P

Aye, it was in yesterday‘s patch notes. The Intrepid is getting a size 4 gun.

The ship looks like it was built for it. So one might wonder if CIG responded to community outcry by delivering the larger gun or if that was always the plan.

True, especially since both the Aurora and the Mustang have all 2x S1... so either double that or switch to a S2...
