A Frigate is generally considered the smallest "ship pf the line", meaning the smallest fleet warship. It is one step up from a Corvette. The Idris was originally planned to be a Corvette, but its size went up and up during early design until be finally was reclassified as a Frigate.

So, it appears 2 twin S5 guns on the sides with twin S5 coverage and a third chin mount, all of which have good angles forward. First 6S5 forward gunship. I cannot see why this should have a larger crew than the Perseus.
