So, why are we doing this?

So far there's the racing, exploration council, and the rock raiders groups that are official. All others are unofficial and as such are subject to change or deletion. Bomber squadron is in the second group, which is why we spend our days plotting and planning what our eventual organization...

This is actually how I imagine a large number of our groups will operate, especially those who operate on an all-volunteer basis.

There will be player owned stations (maybe), but players will not be able to actually "own" space in star citizen.

In terms of immediate-need resupply runs, it's going to be a matter of "for whom, and how soon" in most cases. Fleetcom sanctioned ops and other planned sorties should have the run-up time required to requisition things like fuel, crew, and materiel; things like anti-capital QRF duties are sort...

That is exactly what I'm talking about; the current train of thought in the bomber group is that outsourcing to other specialized TEST groups is going to be a common thing.

Logistics, you say? I know a few guys in the bomber group who want to talk to the logistics players about ordnance.

Unfortunately, players will only have a minimal impact on a system's economy; we're going to be outnumbered by NPCs almost all the time, and that much of a lean is going to put a damper on anyone's monopolistic ambitions.

We will never be a majority, the player to npc ratio is intended to favor NPC s by design. Furthermore, we are not able to own territory in the traditional sense. We can have an org hangar, but we can't "claim" space like one can in eve.

One thing to remember is that while we will have a haevy presence in any area we call "home", we cannot OWN territory like one can in EvE.

And nothing super-duper popular, which skeeves me about nyx; I suspect a LOT of people ar headed for nyx, odin, terra, and stanton.. It might behoove us to find something that offers us similar benefits with a much lower profile.

What about croshaw? Asteroid belts, 2 habitable planets, it's near sol, and ahs several large jump points. Stanton appeals to me as well, with plenty of celestial bodies to tool about to.
