They persist through death, but I guess not through a crash. 17 sec is for AC, it's 47 sec for PU.

It appears that you can now QT from within a planet's atmosphere. Just as long as you are above 10k altitude (don't need to go to 80k or 100k to QT).

If you're not aware, distortion weapons current do about 10% of their intended damage iirc. Haven't tested them in 3.8 yet. Edit: They are doing about 30% of their intended damage in the PU. Seems like they do almost their full damage in AC. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_QCDK9OcrU

It was a nightmare grinding the rep out with the servers so unstable. I did finally finish and got the first mission. During the mission I got a crash and well no way to get the quest back lol. Here is the first of 6 missions.

I'll try to get to the 2nd last mission today to see what the last mission saids. Not likely they would give you just 6 of the missions and leave the last one of the chain out.

It's still a hit and miss. I'm sure they will correct it by the time it goes live. 20 or so times I crashed, I would say 7 ish times I got back to the ship in the approximate location intact. 4 of those times I appeared in the same location but no ship, either just floating in space or falling...

Every 2nd person in the verse will own an Ares or 2. You could easily get your hands on one anytime. Who is going to have a Nautilus for you to borrow if you need one? Always go by rarity I say. Edit: Some day there will be a use for it and we won't have enough around :( , my 2 cents
