True... very true... Starfarer view sucks also... Not my favorite ship.. however I can not think of a better stone to build a fleet upon.

+1 for the Starfarer. This should be your first ship acquisition after your starter package ship. This will be the financial and logistical support base for your fleet. Now you can buy the fun ships that may or may not self support themselves.
