the sleepmode thing could be related to your ethernet adapter. I upgraded the drivers on mine, and my computer would wake up like 3 seconds after I put it to sleep. I went into the device options, and turned off "wake up on LAN", and now my computer stays asleep

make sure with "Ultra" quality, go to settings > advanced graphics, and change God Rays to Ultra. It was only set to high for me

Off the top of my head, I would guess it is either related to A. "Offerings" to keep the bad spirits and stuff away, or B. Since its harvest time, theres an abundance of crops so the farmer would give food to the townsfolk
