This is the cost of a realistic living game, if you want realism than yes you just can't have infinite respawns that would be like playing battlefield or call of duty and I hate those type of respawn 5 seconds later and shoot them in the back mechanics. In a real world you get 1 ship, 1 fleet...
I think ship size was the main concern, anything over 128 meters requires a large landing pad like an Idris and that doesn't make sense so while I agree the original look of the ship was better the overall functionality is better with the new version.
I had no idea this game was even being developed till the other day when a testy posted it and I was a big fan of Destiny but felt it never lived up to the hype and I am a huge co-op type of guy so I will be pre-ordering this. :P
I have the 16000m stick and throttle setup although I find the setting up of all the buttons a bit of a headache, I need to get it out of the closet and dust it off again hehe.
Ya I have not really been paying attention to logitech mostly Corsair stuff for the past few years, I like logitech though but a few years ago I also heard Saitek had quality issues on the older hotas setups and was the main reason I didn't spend 200$+ on their hotas's and went the cheaper route.
I have heard as far as quality goes you can't beat CH products, just to bad their stuff is so out dated, if they could put that into an updated space sim package it would rock.

Sounds like he said "arc" range, as I understand it energy weapons don't shoot in straight lines but arc because of sideways movement of the ship, I won't pretend I know wth I am talking about I just remember reading it somewhere other people smarter than me can confirm or clarify better lol.
I think this all shows that the system is complicated with no doubt and will be tricky to say the least in trying to make piracy a legitimate and fun experience while not allowing it to be manipulated into a form of grievance for players at the same time, so many things to consider and implement...

I guess one way to curve it would be make trade routes and those routes protected by UEE and patrols but that limits the piracy gameplay unless you can build a system where you make higher profits operating outside of a trade route unprotected but the costs have to be made worth while to take...
