Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

It does have more firepower. For a vessel that is supposed to be an explorer/cargo hauler, that, IMHO, is a misplaced priority. For piracy, in support of fighters, when it is time to haul away the loot, sure.

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

In my mind the Corsair is only superior to the Connie in pilot firepower. Since these three aren't really combat craft... The MSR is superior in cargo hauling, and, highly likely, speed and agility. The Connie, depending on which version you pick, and what advertised modularity ends up...

    Logitech X56

Yes. Also you can import them into the PTU build or "release" build after deleting your user folder.

I didn't find it that difficult, once I figured out the interface and how to swap the throttle axis.

Hull A promotional material and cargo box sizes

I renember them saying that about the personal hangar. I didn't think it made much sense then either. We get a limited number of personal persistent hangars, iirc that is 1. You are buying and selling cargo at places other than your home port. Some ships, like the Hull-C can't even get to...

Hull A promotional material and cargo box sizes

Cargo, not grain, coal, etc., today, is moved in one of two sizes of containers. The big ships are carrying the same size containers that go on a truck. Ships and railcars were specifically designed to carry the containers that can be moved by truck. If there were fewer sizes more ships would...

    Invictus Launch week 2952 teaser!

Sorry, my thought process was more like big deal, we've already seen this. Not as much they are not doing anything.

    Invictus Launch week 2952 teaser!

This is what they showed us last year. (Which added a little from the year before.) Sorry, this is just lazy.

Hull A promotional material and cargo box sizes

They built cargo decks for a reason. They have also been stacking cargo boxes all over ground locations, especially Loreville, for quite a while. Yes, you may want to transfer some cargo between your ships in your private hangar, but that feels more like the exception instead of the rule. Your...

Hull A promotional material and cargo box sizes

I seriously doubt the loading and unloading will be visual any time soon. NPC can't cross the interface between the ground and a ship. Or even from one area to the next.

Hull A promotional material and cargo box sizes

I also thought we would have a very lited number of sizes. How are, for example, the Hull-C+ going to load up with cargo from the surface, or offload to the surface. The small boxes have to be loaded up into the big boxes, in space? The big boxes have to be broken down for delivery? That...

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

When talking about the 600i rework they mentioned moving the module segment. I doubt the Connie will have actual modules, on the otherhand.

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

The 600i is modular, we should be able to, eventually, pick up the Exploration module for the Touring version and vice versa. The Constellation is also supposed to have some modular capability, what that actually will look like is anyone's guess. In that case the Phoenix might make a reasonable...

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

All ships with hangars, not yet in game, have "standard" size hangars. The Odyssey and the Merchantman can move any size 2 or smaller ship in their hangar. Since the Endeavor can move two Cutlasses in its hangar it should have pads that can move at least two carrier fighters. So, yes, you have...

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

I asked what your primary goal was. The Starliner is the top end passenger transport. If passenger transport is your primary goal, then you will want lower tier passenger transport to go with the Starliner. Perhaps a Connie Phoenix or 600i. Solve your primary goal first. I'll bet there are...

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

None are "Passenger Transport." Your primary concern is Passenger transport. They don't do that. Sure they do other things, but that isn't your primary use case.

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

None of the ships you mentioned, as replacing your Odyssey, take you to that goal. It might be a good idea to hold where you are until ships show up that fill that goal.

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

The big question is what your intended game play is?

    Profession starter ships

They did tell us small ships won't be able to transit larger systems. Given the concept of "home base," operating in a system, other than your home, is not the same as going to a system.
