    Coronavirus COVID-19 Thread

Is this some kind of British term for "I look a bit like Vavrik did several weeks(tm) ago? If so, I have a solution for that which doesn't involve duct tape.

This is what it's doing as of yesterday. As you said, UK is not reporting every day. Some others if you look at it do the same. Data is normalized per 1 million population. Scroll down. Source for the chart is Our World in Data. Link below. Data comes from John Hopkins University...

I'm not sure what part is the government's fault, but they certainly need to stop Johnsoning it all up. But honestly I don't think it's all that bad. It's certainly not good. It's just that the data shows people getting sick, and some even going to hospital - but they don't seem to be dying...

    Webb Space Telescope Takes Flight

Just adding to your excellent responses. JWST took 12.5 hours to take the deep field image. https://www.nasa.gov/image-feature/goddard/2022/nasa-s-webb-delivers-deepest-infrared-image-of-universe-yet Also, note that JWST was not focused at 13.1 billion light years, but 4.6 billion light years...

    Coronavirus COVID-19 Thread

Last December, the first time I caught COVID, I had a low grade fever with a small amount of coughing for about 3 hours. This was followed a few days later by constant coughing, a horse voice, asthma attacks every ~ 30 minutes, and I developed a problem staying awake for more than 6 hours at a...

    Coronavirus COVID-19 Thread

Do you realize you're actually making the case for what @NaffNaffBobFace said? Like are you trying to agree or just add more information? In the case of missing the role H. Pylori has in ulcers, for example, they had a single study that was not replicated, and made it dogma. Back then, that...

@NaffNaffBobFace, you cause me to laugh frequently, and your post here s not different. Also, in this sentence above, you have encapsulated one of the most important rules in any science, including computer science, information science, and data science.

    Webb Space Telescope Takes Flight

@Bambooza actually said that. Anyhow, 13 billion light years is a good start. But the observable part of the universe is a sphere with a radius a bit over 46.5 billion light years. Just saying there is a lot more to see than what we've been shown so far.

That is perfect. We do need the studies, but it would be unethical to do anything but a retrospective study unless you consider people as lab rats. There are those that do, so don't wish it. Until we get retroactive studies, what we have is OSHA and FDA knowledge - which are both based on...
