David Weber's "Honor Harrington" Book series. The main Protagonist's home system is a binary star system, with 3 quite hospitable (is a little turbulent planets) Manticore, Sphinx, and Griffon. It's a DAMN GREAT series and a suggested read for any SciFi fan- Mirax Arneau
