Nice find! Looks amazing!
The camera work, lighting, sfx, VFX, all top notch!
As for the story....
I wish they had given it at least a twist at the end, with this level of production it could have been a real hit...
Have all the soppy cringe boring done to death "awww, me family" stuff just like they did, so we get invested at least a little bit, and then at the very end after dad gets home, cut to orbit to mothership, and GLASS THE PLANET!
Then show the aliens warping away towards the little red dot of Mars!
Cut to black, end credits.
Or, they could just digitize the whole.planet if you wanna keep the tone of the movie consistent. More spooky that way I guess, less of an impact, more predictable though

I agree the story could have used some ... story... but it's not terrible. There are a lot more, check out their Youtube play list, but also - Not sure if this will work but check this out. I used to watch quite a bit from there until I got too busy to change my underwea with work.
Honestly if we ever want to leave this solar system its the only way.

In a breakthrough for quantum computing, UChicago researchers have sent entangled qubit states through a communication cable linking one quantum network node to a second node.
Some of the laws of physics may no longer be laws sooner than we'd ever expect. Were seeing 6 sided dies turn up 7s in our pursuit of knowledge. The future is exciting.
