AC v1.0 blank screen (won't load) solution

In case anyone has this issue like I did upon patching that 20gb behemoth there is a solution! In the launcher bring up the settings (top right gear icon) and make sure to select your language. For some reason by default there is nothing selected. Once that's done load up as normal and voila!

There's multiple issues going on and many of them have to do with CIG's servers.

Some of the client fixes I've run across are:

-Delete the last three links (after "Registering TPS extensions...") in the Game file supposedly in the Game directory of CitizenClient.
-Delete the User directory in the CitizenClient directory.
-Enable patch repair & select language
-Run as Administrator

Most of it boils down to "force a reinstall and cross your fingers".

I am in the same boat. I really wish they had not buggered it before going on vacation, I am giving SC to my brother for XMas and he wouldn't have cared .92 vs 1.0.
