Ive done some maths and it turns out if i melt my stuff that i have at the moment, ill be able to get a carrack/pheonix/ships = $350. But i wont have enough money to get a good single seater.

The Carrack comes with a single seater called the Pisces, for both local space travel (inside dense asteroid fields, through small jump points, etc.) and it also has an Ursa rover, a ground vehicle. It's probably the biggest bang for your buck.
But, you might want to grab a cheap Aurora if you want something to zip around the verse in (but between you and me, I think the Carrack will do just fine in that regard).

I'm in the same boat as you, though. My Starfarer just got increased in value, so if I glue my Starfarer and Avenger together, I could get the Endeavor I've been dreaming about forever. My problem is I can't afford any modules yet.
Keep in mind that after finishing Squadron 42, you'll get a starter ship, so you don't necessarily need to save a single seater for the beginning of the game. It won't be a good one, but hey.

It depends on what you got. Show us what you got.
If you have some decent stuff (like a Super Hornet with LTI, etc) then I would keep what you got and buy the bigger ships in-game.
If it's $350 worth of Cutlass's, then I would melt that with prejudice and get a Connie.

It's been confirmed somewhere (I can't find the thread right now, though) that you'll either get a starter ship or credits to help towards your first ship when you finish the Squadron 42 campaign, yes.
Aren't you at least saving a seat for your brother? Or never mind, he'll sit back in the cargo area, where all the alcohol is. :)

Good call. I think that 1-2 good ships > 500 lesser ones (which you can't pilot at the same time anyway).
Hahaha, my basement dweller will become my Beerfarer dweller. ;) Although, once @CrudeSasquatch is drunk enough, I'll get him to fly, so I can partake in the hold. OR we can just bring a keg to the bridge. Yeah, that's a better idea. Serve yourselves you drunken slobs, us brothers are drinking and attempting to fly.
Side note. One big ship, and a couple single seaters. That's what I was aiming for. I missed. TEST style. Dammit.

Bare in mind that the $350 ships may or may not cost $350 next time they're on sale, so if you're gonna do it, wait for them to go on sale first. I'm hoping they don't get to work on the reclaimer before the next multi-ship sale (my guess is anniversary sale) so I have a chance to "sidegrade" a then hopefully price increased gemini to one ;)
