There is an Aldi market opening up near me and I am curious. This is one of the largest chains in the world and I have never heard of it. For those TESTies from around the worldoor, is this a good place or something to avoid. It is opening soon so I will get to see for myself but I wanted to know what to look forward to?

UK here. I shop at Aldi often (weekly in fact). I have no complaints.

The Aldi's here in Lexington are nice. I don't go often as I live just a few hundred feet from a Kroger, but I like shopping there.

Have a few here in Omaha/Council Bluffs. Pretty good stuff, usually same as the name-brand but just without the name.
All your local supermarkets are afraid, because they are calculating with margins about 5 - 10 percent. Aldi is calculating with 1 to 2 percent max! Well, at least it will give your local markets a competitive boost - and definitely your shopping cost will decrease significantly!
I like the place. Food is cheap and they have novelty sales of items like leaf blowers, ski gear or white goods
But be aware that those novelty things ain't always good... They had an digital radio here some time ago, had some bad reviews. But usually it's a good value for the price
