Hey everybody,

hard to believe, but although I've received the invitation to PTU 2.5 last week I wasn't able to get into it even for one minute.

I wanted to ask you about your experiences because I picked up a lot of moaning and grumbling about crashing servers, not being able to enter GrimHex, thousands of new bugs - all the excitement seems to be gone. So, I definitely will go into the verse the upcoming evenings, but: how is the status? Are you TESTies also complaining and grumbling about PTU 2.5? Or are there still some positive experiences of you playing within 2.5? Or are all TESTies playing NMS currently? ;)

Looking forward for your information!
Cheers,
Sam

As an Evocati tester, I have been playing 2.5 for weeks and it is the most stable (server wise) update that we have had.

There are some crashes but they are minimal - Alpha testing you know.

Getting into GrimHex has become more difficult since the PTU was opened up to more people. People will be people and some of them just like to shoot others in the back. Having said that, GrimHex is a great experience and I highly recommend it.

There will always be those that complain and grumble. Mostly those that don't really play SC or just occasionally. Ignore them, they do not deserve your attention.

Currently, there is low framerate and desync in the PTU and this is what we are assisting the Devs with. They are working on these issues and when resolved, 2.5 will go Live. Simply logging into a server is helping. Thanks for your contribution in making this the BDSSE.

TIP: The easiest way to get into GrimHex is to turn off a Comm Array - makes you a criminal level 1 - then self destruct. You will spawn in GrimHex as you are a criminal. Thus avoiding all the people outside shooting you. In case you are interested.

*** Please forgive the poor typing, my keyboard needs a good cleaning. Next week it and my PC will be cleaned.

I hope this info helps to settle your concerns. Enjoy the experience and ignore the Trolls. You will have much more fun. 99% of players are fantastic.
Cheers,
'Ole Cosmic (your friendly Avocado)

Hm, sounds like fun, sneeking into GrimHex. Will try that both ways :D Thank you very much for the detailed feedback; besides, I really love Avocados, on bread or as Salsa-dip :D

I know that to remove your jacket to display that cool T-shirt you got at grim hex, you go the Casabas and select the type of jacket your wearing and choose unequip. Then you can flaunt your cool T-shirt in all its glory.

Well, I was into PTU 2.5 for the first time. And then into the Issue Council. And then was a little bit (more) annoyed. It seems, that in the meantime nearly everyone opens a new ticket without looking for existing ones. There seem to be thousands of new issues without reproducing messages. That - sorry - pisses me off; extremly.

As for the hangar module, within 5 minutes I've found several new bugs. I should report them, but I don't know - is there any reason if nobody is reproducing the bugs but simply opens new tickets?

I then went into the PTU - and went off after 10 minutes. I can't import my customized keyboard/hotas-profiles! ARGH! Thats annoying.
Positive thing: the frame rates seem to be okay, and so far I didn't stumble across any glitches and absolved the first ICC mission without bugs or chrashes.
But the best thing currently seems to be ArcCorp: what an amazing view! I suddenly got excited while imagining that sooner or later there *will* be such cities where we can fly over...and through...and so on. I can't wait to exoperience these "WOW-moments" :)

So it sounds like trolls are currently ruining the Grim Hex experience? Does it look like guarding the pads for everyone else will be a good opportunity for emergent content? I hate that assholes screw things up for people because they cant have fun without ruining someone else's.

Yeah, seems so. When I was online within the PTU2.5, some guy (1) was complaining about his spinning Starfarer, and some other guy (2) answered that he should be happy that his (2) guns had a glitch, calling the guy (1) a "moron". Such experiences within the verse kind of making me sad. :( Its simply wrong that guys like (2) are destroying the joy and fun, CIG is so hard working for. :(

Once actual penalty and punishment systems are in place, hopefully these ass-hat trolls will busy themselves with bugging NPCs and leave everyone else alone. Boredom breeds trolls more than anything else.

@Sam K Macer I have an idea, make the new tickets, then post them here. We could start our own Issue Council MEGA THREAD!!! I can't get into 2.5 right now, my desktop is still packed up, but I think, with the power of TEST, this could be a good thing.
