I'm working on a system for animating Star Citizen ships. This thread will (at some point) document my progress.
Day 1: I install the CryEngine SDK and start to fiddle around. I find a thread on the RSI forums about extracting the ships into the SDK, but the method detailed simply causes the SDK to crash on startup, due to the way the hangar files have been changed since then. I've managed to use the PAK manager utility to extract the 300i, but I haven't yet had a chance to see about opening it, as I ran headlong into issues in the SDK. I did get something out of it, however. At some point in the future, we could theoretically play a game of Crysis 2 multiplayer on a map that includes the ships from Star Citizen.
