This is an extremely well thought out breakdown of the Alliance to Restore the Republic's second attack on the Death Star and how it was basically reliant on luck. Not only did that attack an enemy fleet in their own territory, with unreliable early warning of whether the shield would be down when they committed their fleet to combat, they failed to develop a plan for minimum force requirements.
Read the article, it is by far one of the best guest articles published on Angry Staff Officer and I think it applies to Star Citizen.
Edit: Anyone interested in military science but annoyed by some of the more dry literature out there should check out the Star Wars section of Angry Staff Officer.
