Checking out some early questions about this RSi mining ship
Thanks for the video @Montoya! I am almost (but not quite) shocked by the sales of this ship. I think quite a few are going to be melted or upgraded after a short while - and another set after they try to mine with it while alone in the ship.

Yes I bought it, overpriced and all. Also have the paint. What can I say, other than there's a few of TEST's mining crew that have a role on it if/when they want.

I believe that the comment asking about the 64 SCU of cargo pertaining to vehicles or storage, was asking if the ore & refined materials will be held in those side container looking areas apart from that 64 SCU space, because in the CIG video about the Arrastra, they showed the ability to hold a couple ROCs in the cargo area. I could be wrong though. 64 SCU is definitely a tiny amount of ore that can be carried for a ship that size.

I'm of the rather optimistic opinion that the Arrastra will be MORE easily wielded by a smaller crew, sort of an 'upgraded Mole,' and less of an unwieldy 'Capital' ship that the Orion will invariably end up as.
I agree, though I honestly feel that the Orion seems to be more like a small mining space station that periodically moves to gather new resources when the current area is depleted.

I always told myself that if there was ever a ship made that did not have half the crew sucking vacuum while trying to mine, I would grab it.

So I grabbed it.
Me too...and I promised myself I'd never spend that kind of cash on this game. It just looked so cool, I couldn't help myself.

I better stay out of casino's as evidently I have no self control.

I'm not spending one more dollar on this game. But happy to contribute to the games development as I have.

That's too funny! I'm sure I'll be feeling the itch next year but will just have to call my sponsor for support :thump:
Pay no attention to the fine print at the bottom of all the drinking glasses distributed by TEST Squadron, they simply state that customer service may charge the amount of a beer per call, but the longer the call, the more beers will be required to thoroughly flush out the nature of the issue being inquired about. Cheers!

Really thinking of getting store credits for my Orion and getting this assrastar thing. I’ve had that Orion for 7 years, and it just squats there in my upgrades. Yeah, it’s a gamble, but I’m betting this thing will be ready before that planet eating Orion.
You've held out this long. Hold fast. Stay the course. Once dates are announced you can melt and buyback. Or.. if what you are saying is you need the store credits from the melt now in order to get the Arraster then sure. Lock it down before it goes up in price. It just means having to use the buyback token if you want to get the Orion back. Either way both ships will serve you well.

I concur, I'd only melt if you will be able to have the Orion on buyback but even still the question is do you see yourself doing more planet/ small team mining or large scale Corp mining as you really don't need both ships.

Probably within the next 12 months as one of the ships CIG showed a silhouette for. Even if not, they showed us whitebox visuals for some of it, so there are people working the ship. The Orion, on the other hand, will likely continue to languish alongside the Endeavor.

More important to my thinking though, is that the Orion is a ship that demands fleet support. The Arrasterererrera appears to be a self contained platform with all the systems needed for 5 players to focus on making money, including solid defensive ability.

Both will have a place, but they will be distinctly different experiences in game.

Exactly. I can see the Orion being a massive credit earner but also needing many more hands. The Arrastra I see potential to make a lot of credits using a lot less resources and with more functionality. Personally, I am aiming to have the Arrastra in my hanger in the coming months after more fleet re-works
