The Avlis for Dummies
Quickstart Guide
Answer quickly: did you know that the
M'Chek-T'Nanshi Waris over? No? Well then
this guide is meant for you! If your last Avlis memory is of
The Gentleman, or of
Dameon single-handedly attacking the city of Elysia, be advised: a lot has changed since then. Here's a complete list of everything you'll need to get going again:

Get a copy of Neverwinter Nights. If you don't have access to CD disks, the
Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition is available from Good Old Games for $9.99. If you do happen to purchase from GOG.com, don't forget to
request a multiplayer key from them.

Download the hakpaks. To download a single file with all required Avlis hakpaks,
click here (caution: this is a large file and may take a few minutes).
To Install: move the contents of the
/hak directory into your Neverwinter Nights
/hak directory, then move the one file in the
/tlk directory - copaptlk_4_9.tlk - to the
/tlk directory of your Neverwinter Nights installation.

Make sure you can still access the forum. if you're receiving this email, it means that you
already have an account on the
Avlis forum. Your username is
Azmodiuz, and it is registered to this email address. If you forgot your password, you can easily request that it be reset from the login page.

Register for the Alpha Server. Because Bioware no longer maintains a master server, vault authentication is now provided by our own Alpha Server. If you logged in to Avlis as recently as July 2011, you already have an MSID (master server ID, which you enter as the 'Player Name' when logging in to Multiplayer). Otherwise, you'll need to request a new one. Simply log in to the forums and
compose a private message to the 'Alpha Registration' group in the format described on
this page. If you're having any difficulty at all, just
ask for help on the forum!

Review the player guide. If you need to create a new character, or just need a refresher on Avlis's lore, take a look at the
Player Guide, which has links to Avlis history, races, geography, culture and religion, as well as information about
custom systems and
custom races.

Log in and play! To connect to Avlis, join
Multiplayerusing your MSID as the Player Name. Then click
Join LAN Game, followed by
Direct Connect. For the server IP address, use one of the following:
