That's one of the reasons inform don't DO the PTU, I don't have the IRL time to devote to struggling through all those issues. I admire and appreciate anyone with the time to do that

I upvoted it. But I'd offer that '4.0 hype' feels like just that. Hype. 4.0 is just another number in a long series of numbers. I guess I don't care about the Alpha numbers anymore. What matters more to me is seeing CIG delivering clear progress with each release: new features, improved gameplay, expanded content, and better stability with each release. If CIG does that, I don't care about the Alpha numbers. From that perspective, I agree with the OP - upvote to encourage CIG to not release patches until they show clear value. If the release value is debatable, hold off until the value is there.

My perspective would definitely be ignored by CIG, but would probably be best for the project overall. When launching 4.0, no matter how good it's running, DO NOT give it a Free Fly Event! To some, this would seem like a counter intuitive / missed opportunity, but if you truly think about it, having it be limited to actual backers to limit the numbers, would help keep its launch more stable & thus more enjoyable to those that actually care enough to back the game.

In fairness, I both stated up front that I know that CIG would ignore my perspective & that in my opinion, with something this important to get right, it would be better to release it with the odds of success being in its favor than to effectively dare randos to FUBAR the release with overwhelming numbers, many of whom want the project to fail to prove their pessimism accurate.
