A Cutlass Black will fit perfectly ... stopped in front of the twin S8 laser cannons (until the blast hits). At which point the BMM becomes a 1 stop pop for the pirate minded Cutty pilot.

This thing puts the 890 to shame, I cant imagine its under $1000 when its released.
That's what I've been saying for a while as well as predicting that while it won't have the size or multiple hangars of the Privateer, that it's features will at least put it on par if mot surpass it in the field of trading / marketplace. Especially given the Drake aesthetic VS how the Banu treat this as a family heirloom passed from generation to generation & place their wealth into the furnishing of this ship, according to official lore.

I got to say, I'm so great at naming threads...
BMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.png

lmao :glorious:

Cat is going up in price soon, so you might want to get an upgrade from something to a cat…. For now, the origin 400i to cat will probably work well
Really? How'd ya figure?

There's at least a couple threads already talking about the BMM, but can there every RRREEEAAALLLLLY~ be enough? I mean, we haven't even seen a video from Glorious Leader specific to the ship updates!
I meant like, at the time there were no threads discussing the latest information on BMM as far as I could tell. I know we have something like 500 old threads, I've probably started a good number of them myself.

I'm pretty sure the Defender is 24.5x24.5x5m in landing configuration.
Hmm, well, I'll be rather delighted if that's true. Just means we can fit even larger ships in the hangar there, which would basically mean the remaining few S-size ships.

Tbh, BMM isn't going to be doing an in-orbit Bazaar, getting just one customer at a time would be kind of a, well, it'd be quite intimidating for 8 cashiers to stare a single customer down.
So, I'd say the split is more along the lines of, Kraken is a space-borne trading hub, while BMM needs to land on a planet, probably close to a population center. Kraken clientele would be more like captains and crews, BMM clientele would be just random civilians. Well, I mean, sure, BMM might get the occasional captain as well, but mostly it'd trade with townies. As such, Kraken might be more geared towards selling gear, armaments, ship parts, etc. While BMM might be selling like cool little souvenirs, food items, materials, etc. Maybe sell the occasional gun as well.
All in all, I think BMM and Privateer will end up habiting two different environments.

I agree without landing pads and only the one docking collar along with the effort spent on the grand staircase entrance and the way cargo is stored and unpacked it really speaks to the intention of the designers that this ship lands first before trading. Nothing prevents it from trading in space in small high-cost items as the buyer can be shuttled into the defender hanger or dock with the collar just it would be easier on both parties to land somewhere first.

CIG said the Cat price will go up during IAE. See the spectrum post for Horror Beyond the Stars event.
Right now the Cat is available in the upgrade store at its "not yet raised" price. Better stock up ;)
Interesting, good to know. Harbringer -> Caterpillar actually adds nicely to the end of my longest CCU path. Now if only it was a modest $40 bump, that'd be perfect. Need to get to $5 below Gemini.

While for the most part I agree, with it having a docking collar, I can see stopping at major space ports to drum up business as well. Damn, now I feel a bit like a Ferengi from Star Trek. I guess that puts my frame of mind in line with the Banu, from a trade stand point.

Oh, yeah, now that you mention it, I can sort of see it. Like, land on A0 on Olisar, people will be like "Oh hey, a bazaar is stopping by" and the players at the very least will venture out to the landing pad. Get in your ship. Then you close the doors. AND KIDNAP THEM. PERMANENT CUSTOMERS! PROFITS THROUGH THE ROOF!
Not sure if the NPCs would venture on landing pads though.
Now, as for the docking collar, I'm not that sure. Like sure, theoretically, but if you're landed 3km away from the hub on the dark-side of the station between 2 dumpsters and a space hobo, and need to take like an elevator to Docking Collar 03A.5-C, I'm not quite sure if players would find you. On the plus side, NPCs could just detect something got attached to a docking collar, but imagine how creepy it would be if you land and every NPC on the station will stand up in unison like "Ding! I smell a bazaar" and then just silently start heading to the dark side of the station, in a solemn march. Well, it IS Halloween.

I was thinking more along the lines of stopping at the main hubs / cities on the planets, main stations above the planets where available as well as potentially at better R&R stations between the planets if time permits & if they seem busy. If there's no traffic at the minor stations, there's no need to fully stop before moving to the next point of destination for that next cluster of sales.

You're making a lot of assumptions here that don't really sound like SC game design. There are no defined rails on what I can and can't sell out of a BMM. I can sell whatever the hell fits down the lift to whoever is buying. If I wanted to blast through a blockade and land in the middle of a warzone to sell strawberry flavored popcicles, it is my prerogative to do so. That being said, Will I be able to refuel folks? Perform repairs? Fight off attackers to keep my docked patrons' ships safe? God no. Each ship will have its lane, but none will conquer all.

"strawberry flavored popcicles" sound tasty. However, as it's coming from you, might those also contain a bit of alcoholic blessing to help TESTify the experience?

That is exactly what I'm wishing and betting for. No more than 335 for the new price, so I can then use the Gemini to BMM. We'll see.

MSR jumped by 35 in that 200$ range, but it was for release.

Here they are adjusting the CAT price up compared to newer recently introduced cargo ships. Also modularity incoming soon.

When the modules arrive for the Cat, a lot of various game play options will also be added to that ship which will also potentially modify how it's used. That's a hell of a lot of value.
