Hello guys, I've been aware of the gray market for years now, but never delved into it. I know that you can trade ships into other accounts throught the gift system and I kinda know that that's tha way it is done, still, how does it work, exactly?
I had the habit of getting some ships then melting them just to get them into my account for later use, but I'm pretty happy with my LTI Talon and 120-month MSR at the moment, so I don't plan to melt them anytime soon.
That being said, I have some nice pledges that are not currently in store and I have one buyback pledge that I won't use this quarter (I guess?) and I was wondering if I can resell them with a small profit margin to some other backer so I can buy more things that I want in the store, because I assume that's how the grey market operates? If not, please enlighten me on this matter.

Interesting pledges I have in hold are as follow:
120-month insurance
1x PACKAGE - AURORA MR IAE 2950 STARTER PACKAGE
1x STANDALONE SHIP - TUMBRIL RANGER TR - IAE 2949
1x STANDALONE SHIP - TUMBRIL NOVA TANK - IAE 2949
1x STANDALONE SHIP - AOPOA NOX KUE - IAE 2949
1x STANDALONE SHIP - AOPOA KHARTU-AL - IAE 2949
1x STANDALONE SHIP - DRAKE CORSAIR - IAE 2949
1x STANDALONE SHIP - RSI CONSTELLATION TAURUS - IAE 2949

72-month insurance
1x PACKAGE - MUSTANG ALPHA PACK WARBOND ANNIVERSARY 2018

6-month insurance
1x STANDALONE SHIP - MERCURY STAR RUNNER - 2949 IND
1x STANDALONE SHIP - ORIGIN 85X VALENTINE'S DAY 2019
3x STANDALONE SHIP - TUMBRIL RANGER CV

Well first and foremost the "buyback token" is used only, as far as I know, if you are buying back some pladge with store credit, if you use real new mony that is not used.
Also for gifting a packet to another player that need to be re-purchesed with fresh money: buyed back ship with store credit are not giftable.

WTF? 14% in fees for each transaction? That`s what I was hoping to get in each ship lmao.
I have to send them a photo of my id AND download and have a contract notarized signed.
I`m sad. Too much effort for small cash. Thanks anyway. Will try to sell on my own.

All true but people will pay extra money on a good looking website for internet spaceships when the seller has to go through extra hoops to sell. Trying to sell on reddit SC trades is hard with no sales history. Most TESTies try to break-even here.

I would give a look at Star Hangar. That is where I sell all my stuff. To be honest though most people are going to want LTI ships so turning a profit might be tough.
How do you do on Star Hanger all in all? I was thinking about setting up shop there, I don't want a profit, just want to pledge enough to get the two F8s.

When you reach Praetorian concierge level ($15k spent on RSI website) receive an executive F8 lightning.

Like others have said, 10 year and less will be a tough sell. Pay attention to the next few sales. Have credit ready and look for LTI concepts and lock in a bunch of upgrades too.

The last good CCU was the warbond upgrade to the LTI Nomad from a 315P, which you could pick up for $5. With that CCU you can build essentially any ship above it with LTI. There are upgrade paths that can save you a bunch of money, making your final sale price more attractive. With smart CCU's during that last sale you could build a LTI MSR for $200, or BMM for $300, even though they were selling for a lot more.

Sadly, that amount of money equals 47 months of my monthly wage lmao]

Problem lies in the fact that I don't wanna spend more money. Precisely for this reason, is that I was considering giving someone else the opportunity to have those packages that are no longer for sale and getting some small cash in return so I could add some paints or even low cost ships to my collection. I'm Brazilian and the current exchange rate is 5.3 to 1 USD, which makes the game helluva expensive to someone who has a 315 USD monthly wage.
Will keep an eye out, tho. Thanks for the tips.

What do you mean by getting two F8s?
Concierge Levels and Rewards

As I buy ships to sell, I increase the pledge amount attributed to my account. I'm currently at $7200.00, however this doesn't count gray market purchases. In order to get the first F8 Lightning, I need to reach $10,000.00 total pledge.

WING COMMANDER
$10,000 Total Spent

They call you Wing Commander, and with good reason. Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, but whatever it tosses your way, you face head on. Each obstacle is only another challenge for you to conquer, another story for you to tell, another reason why you’re a Wing Commander.

Anvil Aerospace F8C Lightning*: Few vehicles employed by the proud men and women who serve in our Empire’s Navy inspire the awe of the legendary F8 Lightning. A force to be reckoned with, the F8 has secured Humanity’s freedom from numerous threats at home and abroad countless times. Now, that same next generation space superiority fighter is available to become a part of your personal fleet with the Anvil F8C civilian variant.
Once I've reached Wing Commander, I need to sell another 5k in ships to get to $15,000.00 which this takes me to the Praetorian level and earns me the second F8 lightning.

PRAETORIAN
$15,000 Total Spent

Respected and regaled the galaxy over, your reputation as a possessor of the Praetorian rank precedes you. Ever dependable, if brazenly unpredictable, your fearless gallantry has earned you well-deserved eminence across countless systems. Many a tale has been told of your achievements and many a glass raised in your honor. You are Praetorian. You are legend.

Apocalypse Arms Havoc Scatterguns Sharkmouth-Edition (x2)*: Personal defense has never been more fun than with these size-one scatterguns strapped onto your ship of choice. With devastating effectiveness at close range, the Havoc scattergun is sure to make any up-close dogfight more personal. Plus, with exclusive aggressive styling, you can be happy in the knowledge that the last thing your enemies will see is the grinning sneer of the Havoc as it unleashes fire and hell.

Anvil F8C Lightning Executive-Edition*: Always ready to improve upon near-perfection, Anvil has coordinated with the Chairman’s Club to create a stunning work of flying art - the F8C Lightning Executive-Edition. The hull has been beautifully accentuated with a unique premium livery, while in the cockpit you’ll find sumptuous gold and metallic detailing, a fitting crown for this king of heavy fighters.

Buyback tokens are never used for Greymarket as the pledge will not be tradeable.
Instead, ALL cash is used on buybacks so that they are tradeable and can be sold on the grey market.
NON-LTI stuff sells but not as often as LTI stuff.
The glory days of harvesting tons of LTI pledges with RSI credit have been over for years.
So now the only way to harvest LTI pledges is by cash spending.
Which gets expensive fast.

P.S. You can sometimes do LTI CCU harvesting with RSI credit but those are rare sales events. Most of the time they are warbond only CCUs.

I can only think of one non-warbond, non new money, and available to be bought with RSI Credit, the old Super Hornet with LTI upgrade. That has to be at least 7 years old. I might be getting ship wrong. Almost impossible to find anymore.

I forgot what it was, but I was able to buy an LTI CCU with RSI credit not too long ago. Time is a blur though, I only backed in 2015 and that has been too long to try to remember all the details over the years. I don't really care anymore to remember them. Just when good stuff happens leverage it hard if you can. Like the recent Valentine sale for the $5 Heartseeker CCU and all the other limited stuff. $5 CCU that includes a ton of in-game upgrades worth more than $5 of effort. Stuff like that.
