It would be nice to have a section where we can talk about ships, upgrades, ship roles, etc...

Think that strategy is more for making combat plans, moves agains frends, enemys, long, short term plans and goals, than talking about ships.
But if you think that talking about ships falls under this section then its ok for me:)

Strategy doesn't necessarily have anything to do with war.
You have a strategy with how to move merchandize from 1 place to another using custom build ships.
With each ship you build you'll have to utilize a different strategy. But you can turn that around as well.
You can say you have a goal, which you need to reach under uncertain condition, and then you backward engineer the perfect ship upgrade for a certain role.
Like I mean, from the same wiki:
