Not that childs play, perverts, Childs Play the charity.

I have been in talks with Childs Play about doing a PC auction for a few weeks. They have agreed it is a good idea. I want TEST to be a focus group for this PC build, and have it TEST propoganda machine. This will allow us to show off we do more than other orgs and use our infamy for good things like Childs Play.

The basic idea is that I would gather parts from various companies and use them to build a PC. From there I would auction off the PC to TEST members. The money would then go to either Childs Play general charity or a specific Hospital we can choose.

The PC would be of course clad in black and yellow and be sporting TEST symbols and maybe Childs Play logo also. I will be doing it in a open loop water cooling design, I am not sure if I will use acrylic or flex tube you guys can make suggestions. Most details will be disclosed once we get sponsors and when you answer the questions below

My questions to TEST are these; Is this something you guys are interested in doing? What kind of companies would you like seen in this build? What form factor would you guys like? Any comments? Suggestions for a hospital?

My end goal would to donate as much as money as possible toward Childs Play. Right now I plan on only building a single PC, if this time is popular enough I may do another build.

This seems like an awesome idea! I think a case design aesthetic much like Jayz2cents' Skunkworks would be super awesome due to all that black and yellow. Furthermore once we get a much more firm handle on this I can also try reaching out to CIG to see if they are interested in drawing more attention to the event to garner more traction for the charity.

Not sure what type of budget you're going to go with here but if it is a high-budget X99 build this (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5123#ov) would be epic in terms of both color and performance :D

I love this idea!!! Is there a benefit to having it go to a specific hospital instead of Child's Play in general? I used to work for the Children's Organ Transplant Association, so I'm partial to children's transplant hospitals myself...

I would love to do a x99 build the issue is will people auction for it at a equivalrnt rate. In my experience with other charity auctions is that if a 1000 dollar rifle sells for only 200, its a insult to the sponsor and they dont support anymore.

The benefits is that all our donation foes to a specific hospital instead of equally to all hospitals.

In order to prevent a loss for this charity I would definitely bump the starting bid so that such a case does not happen.

Well the letter has been signed and sent. Myself and TEST are now officially doing this build.

I still need suggestions on parts. I was going to send an email to caselabs about a case. These cases are definitly the hest there are and would allow us to adapt them to our needs.

Congrats! I think this is a great idea. Will this be done in the Redmond/Seattle area? Then maybe the Seattle Childrens Hospital might be a good spot to send the donations

Childs play is headquartered in Seattle. It has many hospitals in USA and EU i think sime in other locations like India also. The computer will shipping will be determined by size and if people want to take responsibility for shipping. I am in S. Korea but have access to USA embassy/milutary mail system. So East Asia and USA are definitly on the shipping list.

Spread the word! If anyone streams olease announce it, maybe get montoya to post a video. His good looks and silver tongue are sure to bring attention to it.

So what do you guys think, I need input. A mitx z79 with a 4790k or a matx with a 5820k. I am not sure on what or how many gpu's so keep in mind for now the build is a single gpu. I am trying to work with AMD for a fury x and then I will go down the line to see if one of their manufactuarers will sponsor. What I have been told by a reseller is that they are only getting maybe a couple hundred at a time and they can not sponsor at this time. After fury x I will attempt titan x or 980ti. I do not think the 390x is that great of a card right now so i am skipping it.

I can't tell you anything between the two cores that you couldn't look up online. I will say that I personally own a i7-4790k and it easily plays anything I've thrown at it Reviews online seem to throw up similar reviews of the two cores, and the 4790k is a bit cheaper, so I guess that one.

As for the GPU, damn. You are going big on this one. I'm personally more inclined towards Nvidia, but AMD has put out some very nice offerings lately. If you can get a gaming PC that has the Fury X or the Titan X card in it, I think that it could draw a hell of a lot of interest in those interested in bidding on a gaming PC.

The 4790k is a smaller 4 core cpu with a in built graphic card. The 5820k is a larger 6 core without a in built graphic card. The chip is much bigger. Also the 5820k is soldered to the shield on the onside, while the 4790k uses a thermal paste inside.

The 4790k is faster in clock speed, 5820k has more cores. Most games only use 1-2 cores and are better for gaming because its faster. SC is said to utilize all cores of a cpu, making the 5820k better.
