I definitely PLAN on going, buying tickets, arranging for the hotel room months in advance, and the only thing that would stop me would be some dire or last minute thing popping up at work. I need to know where everyone would like to stay so hopefully we can all stay in the same hotel / area and take advantage of their open bar or something. I used to be all about staying in the cheapest places, but I'm looking at hotels next to the convention center, across the river in downtown within walking distance. Marriott and Hilton are both around $400 for the night of the 9th, checking out the 10th or 10th to 11th. I get people not wanting to stay there, but those are where those prices stand as of today. Everything else is anywhere between 200 - 400 a night in the downtown area. It seems quite a few hotels are already booked full, I doubt for cit-con but possibly some other thing that's going on as the Marriot and Hilton as of today are under $300. This is just for those of us wishing to stay close to the event, close to downtown and all the stuff that comes with that. I highly recommend taking this into consideration as I'm sure it adds to the overall experience of going to the con in the first place. I'm fucking STOKED as this will be my first con I can actually attend (fingers crossed) so I'm making this my vacation for the year. Let's hear ideas! There is a nice bridge we could all stay under as well, but we'd have to do it as a squadron to keep control of the territory. Police and hobos are a thing. We can recruit the hobos and pacify the police with spaceships and stupidity, but for how long, I don't know.
