Crew Group

So, every once in a while, I hear people talking about how we got all these capital ships, but no people to crew them. I don't think that is so, I think we just don't know who the people wanting to crew capital ships are.

So, I'm thinking we could start a new group that people can join (as you can be in multiple groups, this shouldn't cause issues). Something like DisplayDummies (If a joke needs to be explained, it's a bad joke. Bad jokes make good names. So basically, you got your TEST Crash Dummies, when you man a ship with them, you mostly put them on windows.) or possibly something else. CrashCrew. Deckhands. something. Deckhands is probably good and polite. Or DeckDummies. I'm not actually in any condition to come up with ideas right now. That's why I think it's a good idea to come up with ideas right now.

Anyways, so the idea is that people like me who would actually enjoy crewing a capital ship or something for someone else, rather than always flying our own ships, can put ourselves forward. Those who then have capital ships in need of crews should have a rough idea who to contact. This should also give us a rough idea of how many people are wanting to crew ships vs. how many ships we have to crew.

I'll withdraw for the remainder of the night, let me know how terrible an idea you guys think this is.

I think this WILL be a great idea when the game gets a little farther along. Right now, I dont believe we really know enough to start making lists. I do like that you're trying to get ahead of the game though. Planning for this kind of the stuff will be important for us to hit the ground running and set ourselves apart as an ORG.

Test redshirts, we are the janitors, the cooks, the lowlifes that keep these jock captains up in the ranks. When it comes to the corporate ladder, we are the struts they stand on, and we stand proud. the first to volunteer and the last to leave. Redshirts stand proud.

The Redshirt Squardon. I agree with Thugari. And I think this is an excellent idea, @Sanzennin. Sometimes it's just as much fun taking the place of an NPC as it is flying on your own.

Hmm, yeah, Redshirts works as well. Well, technically we got blue and gold shirts above the planes as well, but those don't matter. For me, the name is secondary anyways, I just want to let everyone know, that when they take their Starfarer (or something else) out for a spin, I'm game.

@MikeNificent well, yeah, I know it's still kinda early, but there are some larger and smaller multi-crew ships already out. Of course, this will be increasingly more relevant as more multi-crew ships get flight ready. And then even more when we start needing the ships that size. But then again, we got other groups organizing ahead of time as well.
