Finally Crytek has done it.
Its new front on VR is just beginning, like in other engines like Unrealengine 4.
But unlike other engines it adds a native support for OpenGL, meaning that Linux fans can expect some big gaming changes.
I hope CIG can integrate it into their engine before the game launches.
New in 3.8.1:
• New API: OpenGL Support
• New platform: Oculus Rift Support
• New platform: Linux
• New feature: Voxel-based Volumetric Fog
• New feature: 8-weight GPU Vertex Skinning
• Improved: POM Self-Shadowing
• Added: Support for 3ds Max 2016, Maya 2016 and MotionBuilder 2016
• Cascaded Shadow Cache
• Reverse Depth for Increased Z-Buffer Precision•
And much, much more!
