Debating on what to do

I have been thinking on what I am going to do in game to start. I am debating on whether to wait for the anniversary sale and upgrade my cutlass Black to a Cutlass Blue or get a Gladius and a Avenger Stalker for doing military missions/escorts and an Avenger Stalker to go bounty hunting in. It would limit my cargo carrying capabilities but I am not sure how well the Blue will do at military/escort stuff. I know I can buy stuff later in game with UEC I am just wondering if it would be better to have the two ships or if the Blue would cover everything.(hopefully they won't have raised the price for it yet and I know it will be a Black in 3.0 until the Blue is added).

What are your thoughts?

I'd wait and see what the Blue brings to the table post-rework. We've had very conflicting information about the Blue's capabilities and level of customization (in case you don't want the holding cells for instance.) and we've heard not a lot about what's changing along with the rework for both the Blue and the Red.

Assuming the Blue can remove the cells, and keeps the better stock equipment, increased armor and the larger shield size, I would say the Blue would be better than having a spare Avenger, but I'm a sucker for the Cutlass.

yeah I just don't know how much piracy I am going to be doing. I kind of like the idea of a Hon Solo/Dark Matter playstyle but I am somewhat undecided because I got a joystick and I am loving dogfighting with it and I don't know how much of a dogfighter the cutlass is going to be since its losing maneuverability. I have even considered getting the Ghost or Tracker hornet but I keep looking at the cutlass like damn I just wish I knew how the rework handled to know if I am still going to like it.

Right now I have a Cutlass Black package and a Avenger Titan which I will melt to do whichever I think I need like $5 if I decide to go with the Gladius/Avenger Stalker. I did see from the new specs they added a jump drive to the Gladius so it isn't stuck on a bigger ship to get around anymore. My only draw back on the cutlass right now is that I don't know how much maneuverability its going to lose or if it will be able to hold its own in a scrap with say any of the hornets or other dogfighters.

The only reason I wouldn't wait to go the blue route is because the price might increase after the rework. I plan on possible bounty hunting and doing escorts for test members hauling goods it still holds 25 cargo as of right now with the cells which puts it in the middle of the medium and light freighter if I can't take them out. If I go the pirate route I can hold people for ransom that way also as well as carry some of the cargo off just not as much as with the Black. Though I am not sure how the whole ransom thing will work or the cells since from what I saw in the one video if captured the person is just going to respawn and the bounty hunter is just going to have I don't know what a npc maybe to hand over for the bounty I was kind of confused with the whole thing. I imagine its still in the works unless someone has an updated video I missed about it.

i flew gladius during free fly and i wasnt impressed also you can get a promo version if you can get enough people to referal. also make sure you get Cutlass black before the price increase or at an upgrade to it.
