Dillema 890J or HULL-E

The current dillema I am facing, should I swap my 890J for a HULL-E?

What do you guys think?

I say the Hull E, it will be a bigger money maker early in the game.

Realistically, it will take a good deal of effort to fill an E and several escort ships to protect it in transit.

The 890j will be able to operate with a small group instead of a large one.

Personally, I would keep the 890 over the E.

I will most likely be dedicating my E, the TSS Moneypocalypse to work in test logistics.

Keep the 890. Lots of people seem to be buying E's but you're going to need a huge amount of people just to fill it, let alone escort it...

The 890J seems better to me. The individual cost may be cheaper, but unlike the Hull E, you don't have to purchase cargo. All you will spend money on is fuel, your "cargo" (which will be people) will actually pay you for the privilege to ride. A hull E would take days or even weeks of grinding JUST to get to the point where you could fill it with cargo. You can fill up your 890j on the first day with almost no investment.

The Hull E will take millions to fill up and cost thousands more in escorts. The 890J is profitable from start to finish, although a full hull E would almost certainly make more.

I don't think shipping is going to be any kind of problem. Escorts on the other hand for all that shipping might be harder to come by.

you have to buy the cargo in most cases and then trade it yourself. It's a lot less profitable to ferry goods than to buy and sell them from the source. Ferrying means 90% of the profit is in the hands of the company you're ferrying for. The cargo on the hull E is stated as frequently being more valuable than the entire ship. That means millions upon millions of credits in investment in cargo is required in order to fill it.

are there even going to be ferrying missions on that scale? I guess if you get a UEE contract?

I honestly see the profit being optimal at the hull c level, with the largest two being better used on a org level... I need to re-math, but the E holds a frightening amount of cargo... it may not be viable to use a ship of that scale to commodity trade... Of course I don't have any in game supply data yet to confirm that

You have to ask yourself... how many hookers can you fit in each one? And what quality of hooker? The 890 will definitely have the quality advantage over the Hull E there, except with a very specific clientele . Because the ones shoved in cargo containers on the Hull E will probably suffocate and die.

Hookers don't do well in the vacuum of space. They would be much more inclined to ride in an 890J, and you could probably "enjoy" their company while en-route. ;) The blow might not make it, though.

I think the Hull E is going to be next to impossible for someone to operate without a massive organizational structure backing it 100% of the time... Being that the organization already owns an E, I see it as the one most people are going to want to support since any money made may split in a more even manner.

What am hoping happens is that we can use the hull D and E as an external inventory hold. you know.. fill up an E with a cheap commodity and as the price goes up slowly use and A B or C to sell it off..
