Hi,

So the title says it, I'm looking for a contact at both Discord and Guilded because my company is interested in using either of the services for commercial use as a collaborative tool for the company. I've reached out to the generic emails that I could find on each of their web-sites, but being that TEST is the Biggest and Bestist org in the entire Universe and Montoya is god, I figured we probably have a member or two who works at each company.

If you do and there is somebody in sales, or who has the authority to give us permission to use either service for commercial purposes please PM me.

Hmm, interesting.

Guilded is tailored to gaming, but its not that far of a stretch to change a few minor things for business use.

Ill PM you.

Yeah, I gotta say, Discord is far better than the Skype crap or WebEx we use at work, that is for sure.

Of course, half the problem are the other people on the phone conference...if you haven't seen this before, it is way to close to the truth than it should be:

That looks exactly like how every Webex call I've ever had the pleasure stress to have taken part in feels. Microsoft Team speak works marginally better, if you have it, but by marginally I mean the difference is 3 atoms wide.

My company just moved over to teams for meetings and it's actually been working pretty well so far. I was pleasantly surprised. We still have to use Webex for the bigger company wide meetings but those are mostly just one or two people talking through the whole thing.

Thanks Montoya, I got a reply from the founder of Guilded which was cool! So we have a site setup now and the company's testing it out w/ a few volunteers. They're looking for a place for mainly social stuff first, I need to talk to the Guilded guys about encryption, they said they use it for business as well, we just have to be careful with how we use it if it's not secure. That said, it's an opportunity for them. Anyhow the idea is that you can pop in, see who is on voice or what people are talking about on text and jump into a conversation like you would in a break room or bar.

Guilded probably never imagined the platform could be used for business, but its a market segment that should definitely look into!

Everybody loved it in the demo yesterday, the first question was around security and encryption. We're willing to pay Guilded for these types of services, so I dropped some feedback in the guilded friends team server.

I actually asked Discord once if you could use it for work. You can, if you only use it for communication with coworkers.

Slack is a better alternative for commercial use(depending on what kind of commercial use) though imo, we have been using it at work(dev company) for many years.
