So the next big expansion for Valkyrie drops in Sept, and it's loosing the need to have VR, and allowing cross platform play.

So who's played the game? It looks freaking awesome. Any thoughts from the community?

Valkyrie was groundbreaking for the immersiveness of the VR experience

not sure it will be more special on a flat screen than other space sims

AFAIK it doesn't share Eve Online's single-shard universe, which is that game's claim to fame

I would love to try Valkyrie with VR. It looks freaking amazing. As you said, the immersiveness. I just love the idea of turning my head and looking out the side of my cockpit.

That being said, I'm sure we'll have the full experience with SC. And we should have an affordable VR headset by the time the game drops.

Single shard universe? I never did get into Eve.

I tried it when PS VR had their trial events in malls.

It was awesome. The feeling that you're actually in the cockpit is so cool!

Also the guy asked us to hold the controller with both hands on the lap when we were sitting, and as I looked down, the pilot's hands were just there too. It was such a little thing but it felt really good!

I just wish I could afford a VR system.
(says the one who just spent $900+ on a 1080Ti)

((to be fair, Vive is $1150, and Rift is $650 without the touch controllers, and I desperately needed a GPU upgrade anyway))

(((CAD exchange really sucks still)))

But these are necessities! like food, water, BEER!

I'm trying to forecast ahead and save my pennies for a VR system, for when SC is (finally) released, or thereabouts. By then, I'm hoping we will have gen2 or gen3 of the VR systems (and I'll have saved some money up!). I really like the Vive, I'm hoping the prices continue to drop.

I'm really looking forward to smaller prices. Haha.

Yes. Yes it does. Remember a couple years ago when new games were 59.99 instead of 79.99? Fucking loonie. Haha
