Finally had a ship spawn into a hangar I could fly out of in first person

I decided to log in and do a little work towards levelling up my rep with Red-Wind last night using my Pisces, and got a surprise when I went to collect the ship from the hangar it was spawned into.

I'd love to know how the server decided to allocate this hangar, as I don't yet have any ship that would need quite so much space (I think the RAFT is my biggest ship), and there didn't seem to be many\any players around - Not complaining, though, as it was nice to be able to finally fly out of a hangar in first-person.

Wow, that's some weird luck. Recently bought one in game, never had this happen.
I only get the opposite, C2 in a hangar that can only fit it with wings folded up in VTOL/gear down and even then it's like 5 pixels of space left on each side lol
I'm guessing the server thought it needed the space for the ship that the Pisces comes with. Carrack if I remember correctly?

That's great news... but if you have had experiences where the play is flawless, and by some random instance you have problems, I would log out and back in and go to a different server. Just my 2 cents. Just save yourself the headache, because it does not get any better. Server performance does seem to depreciate over time.

I'm used to the cramped hangars - I tried a C2 loaner at one point (IAE last year?) and lost some paint leaving a hangar in it (strangely, I didn't like flying it because of the limited cockpit view, but the Freelancer Max I have since acquired (roughneck pack) has a similar view, but feels much nicer to fly) - so going to the other extreme of hangar:ship ratio was an enjoyable (and unexpected) experience, other than the fact that I think I had to run further in the hangar to get to the ship than the total distance I was required to run in order to collect all 3 boxes for the mission and to deliver 2 of them (The third was at Hur-L2 and required EVA and use of lifts). I guess that I should look at it as punishment for grabbing a ship that can land at the base of stairs into the buildings for collection\delivery - forced exercise to keep my character in shape.

In this case, it's a stand-alone ship (Invictus starter pack earlier this year- Pisces (potential 10 year insurance token), future NPC crew member and additional starting funds, plus a nice paint job for the cost of the ship on it's own) and not part of a Carrack (Until blades\NPC crew are released and I can test them out, I'm sticking to only owning "solo" ships in my fleet), but the game having them somehow linked with regards to hangar selection would seem reasonable - If it happens again tonight, I may have to make Area 18 my home after the 3.17.2 wipe.
