I got on it, but it keeps telling me that I dont have permission to view any messages...

Every time I get on there, I'm shown in the grey "online" list at the bottom of the right side, so I am presuming my membership on there has to be approved by someone?

Yes you need to stay in Discord and wait for a mod to come along and approve, then you get access to it all...
BE patience ;) weekdays it can take little longer than weekends since many have daytime job and we are on many different time zones.
So just hang in there and it'll soon:tm: be sorted out ;)
