And yes, definitely worth it to get the Windows App! Definitely download it, the browser version won't work while you're tabbed into a game.

Discord seems to be getting a lot of attention these days. Even the Star Citizen Reddit mods set one up for open use.

All right, in testing I'm already impressed. Voice quality is rock solid, no lost packets from what I've seen, and it was extremely simple to set up.

Hell, I now have my own voice server without having to pay a cent, and can easily swap between the two without too much fuss. Voice volume is easy to change, the settings menu is intuitive...

This is a solid piece of software!

As soon as they get a good overlay working, I'll be 100% behind Discord. As it is, I love the voice quality, the ability to change individual people's volumes, and the unified chat setup.

It'll be interesting to see the max number of users that it can handle, but it's a pretty normal voice program thus far in my eyes. Yeah there are some extra bells and whistles, but the test will be TEST (the population, obviously).

There's an intermittent problem that has been affecting some people causing them to have varying broadcast levels. It sharply changes between a quiet and a loud volume for broadcast. It does not seem to be related to attenuation.

I've had issues relating to the keyboard binding with my logitech keyboard and push-to-talk. It seems that Discord is registering the custom key rather than the keybind to the key.
Also, when I have it set on the custom key, I have to have the Discord Window selected in order for the push-to-talk to activate. Conversly, if I enter the keybind into Discord rather than the custom key, push-to-talk does not activate if the Discord app window is selected. It will only activate if another window is selected.
