I got to try out the Infinity: Battlescape prototype

About 10yrs ago I remember seeing a youtube video go up showing a very early concept of the infinity engine.

Fast foward to today and we are getting closer to seeing them get a game!

Oh man, I heard "Infinity: Battlescape" and thought, "Surely, you can't mean *the* Infinity? I thought that was vaporware."

This is exciting to see this actually progressing forward! And incredibly impressive!

Someone linked to their kickstarter in Discord the day it launched as well as someone streaming the prototype build. I really enjoyed watching it - seems like it could be an interesting game. I'm keeping my eye on it.

Backed, thanks! I've got far too many eggs in the Star Citizen basket, but I still want to support the genre. Some pretty nice LOD technology in that engine, and I'd love to see it used in future games if nothing else. Best of luck to them!

Most speculation about planetary entry in Star Citizen has been that it will be not much more than a cinematic. I'm fairly certain that planets are currently not modeled to be as thorough as Infinity.
