Yeah, I noticed the $30 entry level package is gone, most likely because they gave everyone alpha, which is what the Aurora ES package didn't include. Fair trade, I suppose.

The squadron 42 package still doesn't make any sense beyond marketing mumbo jumbo, considering it's pretty much the same as the Aurora package.

I agree. The Pre-Order package is more of a marketing move to the Masses. CIG could go the Elite Dangerous route and charge $10 more for beta access to an upcoming title (looking at you, Horizons).

CR also explicitly stated in at Citcon that he wanted to charge a separate fee for Squadron 42 in the future. This is just the first step to that.
