I want to start dissecting this dream but I am afraid to
I love dissecting dreams actually. Yeah, you don't want in my mind, it's scary. But if anyone wants to take a shot, I wouldn't be offended. But I also don't want to derail the topic too much.

Sleep paralysis is some scary shit. I've experienced it a few times. It's horrifying really. I can't imagine how much it would suck to actually be paralyzed.

I don't think it's anything to worry about, there are regular cases of sleep
paralysis/apnea which include auditory and visual hallucinations, it's certainly not very nice but it's not inherently harmful. There are techniques for dealing with it if it persists. Don't go reading too much in to the Shadow stuff, it'll just stimulate your imagination and make it worse.
Basically, you gotta decide to not experience it anymore and make that clear in your head. Sleep well :)
There's also a symptom of narcolepsy called hypnagogic hallucinations. I had a girlfriend whom was narcoleptic when I was in college and delt with this a lot. Not to say that you have it, but hers didn't manifest until about the time she started college.
